Electrical Engineering Assistant 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creation of electrical schematics, panel layouts, and supporting system documentation under supervision of staff electrical engineers.
  • Creation and release to production of project Bill of Materials under supervision of staff electrical engineers.
  • Execute Engineering Change Orders / revisions to project electrical documentation to maintain current build information for production staff.
  • Participate in internal audits of production assemblies against project electrical documentation.
  • Organize and maintain electronic symbol libraries.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Perform revisions to electrical schematics, panel layouts, and supporting documentation throughout the life of the project.
  • Perform audits.
  • Liaison between electrical engineering and production groups. Work well with fellow engineering and assembly personnel.
  • Develop process understanding in order to improve efficiency as well as the overall product.

Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of basic industrial electrical concepts.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal as well as written.
  • Attention to detail is a must in order to thoroughly document all designs.
  • The ability to work with people in a team environment.
  • Adherence to established standards. Participate in developing / refining standards as they relate to executing engineering, assemble / testing procedures.

Additional Skills:

  • Broad technical knowledge of packaging equipment and/or industrial automation a plus.
  • Driving technical curiosity.
  • Eagerness to help troubleshoot and problem solve as issues arise.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of a 2 year technical degree related to industrial automation.
    (Electrical / Electronic Engineering preferred).
  • One (1) or more years of recent experience.
  • Experience with interrupting wiring schematics, diagrams and technical bulletins.
  • Experience with various PLC based control systems a plus.
  • Experience with HMI, Database, and SCADA technologies a plus.

Reporting/ Organizational Relationship:

  • This position reports to the Controls Engineering Manager.
