Technical Writer

As a Pharmaworks Technical Writer, develop and publish a wide variety of materials supporting our equipment and users. Learn about the components and technology behind the equipment and process. Organize and structure large amounts of information and data. Create graphics to communicate ideas and support procedures in machine manuals. Shoot video and produce 3D animations to use as training tools. Use logic to write test scripts and validate machine functionality and processes. Main Responsibilities

  • Create operating and maintenance manuals, quick starts, and other supporting documentation.
  • Create functional specifications, design specifications, and other technical documentation.
  • Create validation and test documents such as FAT, IQ/OQ, and SAT documentation.
  • Create training content including 3D animations, video, and presentations.
  • Additional tasks may include filing, keeping document databases up to date, and a chance to work with video and photography.

Job Requirements

  • Experience creating manuals and/or test documents in a manufacturing environment. Technical documentation for packaging equipment a plus.
  • Ability to produce user-friendly documentation as well as highly technical documentation a must.
  • Advanced MS Office skill set, particularly Word and Excel, a must.
  • Experience with VBA for MS Office or programming experience a plus.
  • Must be able to work with 3D modeling software. Solidworks Composer experience a plus.
  • Experience creating content for e-learning platforms a plus.
  • Excellent ability to manage time and tasks to complete large documentation projects.
  • Ability to work with other departments to gather, analyze, and communicate technical procedures, ideas, and concepts.
  • Must have a high aptitude for learning new technologies. This includes understanding software, mechanical designs, and electrical designs.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML required. Experience in web design, PHP, and/or ASP.Net a plus.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical assembly drawings, and pneumatic schematics a must. AutoCAD and/or Solidworks experience a plus.
  • Basic experience image editing with Photoshop or equivalent a must.
  • Basic knowledge of digital design, photography, and videography a plus.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud experience a plus.
  • AS degree minimum, BS degree a plus.

Measures of Success

  • Timely completion of technical documentation projects.
  • Accurate validation test scripts for testing machinery and equipment.
  • A substantial understanding of Pharmaworks machinery and technology.
  • Successful contribution to training content.
